We’re incredibly lucky to have some excellent schools so nearby to Riemore at Tamborine. Whatever your children’s interests and aptitudes might be, there is a school to suit them. Each of these schools offer some great educational opportunities, in a range of philosophies and programs.
This small school focuses on finding teaching methods that work for individual students, and ensuring that children have ample opportunities to spend active time outdoors. Extra-curricular options focus heavily on getting active, including horse riding and motorcycle sports.
These two public schools in Tamborine Mountain offer quality education, a strong sense of community, and a focus on balanced education across academic, social, emotional, and physical aspects of life. The primary school won a South East Regional Showcase Award for Excellence in the Early and Primary Years for their pre-prep program. The high school recently had a student achieve top in her year in the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (Writing).
Tamborine Mountain College is a private primary and secondary school, in very high demand in the area thanks to its focus on well-rounded education and sports. Students can get involved in a large variety of extra-curricular activities, including a variety of competitive and non-competitive sports as well as music classes. Due to the small class sizes, enrolments are limited in number – although the school does not limit its enrolments to a specific catchment area. Scholarships are available.
This public high school has a strong focus on preparing students for adult life. It runs multiple education streams, including an academic focus for students planning to attend university and trade focus for students wanting to take a traineeship or apprenticeship. It runs a number of programs to provide children with a well-rounded education, including agriculture, sports, music, and arts.
Windaroo Valley State High’s main stand-out feature is its Excellence programs. Running in sports, music, and academic streams, the programs offer eligible students extra challenges and opportunities in their area of talent. It also has a strong focus on technology, with the aim of preparing students for a future life where computer skills will be essential.
